Pembroke High School Guidance Update

Dear PHS Families,

The Guidance Department is pleased to share this update/reminder of important upcoming dates and events. Please reach out to your child’s guidance counselor with any specific questions.

The month of May brings AP exams.  Please see this important update on AP exams from our AP Coordinator, Mrs. Robin Conathan.  It contains testing dates, times, and locations; important reminders for AP students; information about quarantining during AP exams, navigating digital exams, and more. This update has also been shared with our AP teachers and will be posted on their Google Classroom pages.

May 1st is National College Decision Day, which means seniors will need to decide which college they plan to attend by May 1st.  PHS will celebrate this day by encouraging Seniors and staff to wear their college apparel on Friday, April 30th. Making this decision can be difficult and it is important to consider the financial aid options. MEFA offers free live webinars to help understand the financial aid offers. Click here to register for a webinar to assist with this decision-making process.

The Guidance Counselors will meet with the Seniors during Titan Time this week (April 27th-30th) to complete their Senior Exit Survey. (Seniors in Cohort D will be scheduled a Google Meet and students should check their email for the date/time.) Seniors will indicate if they are going to enter the workforce, join a branch of the military or attend a 2 or 4-year college. Final transcripts will be sent to the colleges indicated in the survey after graduation.

Seniors are reminded that they must complete a total of 40 Community Service Hours as a graduation requirement. The Guidance Counselors have notified all seniors that currently have less than 40 hours this week via email. Seniors can download the Community Service Log Sheet here and submit directly to Mrs. Webb, the Guidance Secretary.
