Congratulations to the PHS DECA Team

This past weekend, twenty-seven business students competed in a 3-day DECA competition in Boston.  The students competed against 3,000 students from across MA.  They competed in written tests, prepared business presentations and role plays.   It was an intense and rewarding competition and we are so proud of how our PHS DECA team represented our school.

We are excited to announce 5 students earned the right to compete at the Nationals competition in Florida in April!  Please join us in congratulating the following students!

Social Media Marketing Plan - 2nd Place Overall

Maeve Cleary and Grace Valeri - For the past few months, these 2 students have been working on a creative Social Media marketing plan for Ray-Ban sunglasses.   The deliverable was a 10-page paper and 15-minute presentation to a judge.  This is the first time Pembroke has ever won in a written project! So happy for them, their project was very creative and utilized all the social media advertising techniques taught in class.

Hospitality and Tourism Team - 3rd Place

Finley Gough and Megan Willshire -  They participated in a written test and two business role plays.   These two students are the strongest performing team of the club and it is the second time they earned a spot to Nationals!

Accounting - 4th Place

Jackson Graham - Jackson participated in a written test and two accounting role plays.   This is the first time Pembroke has won in this category!   Jackson earned  1st and 2nd place in the role plays - wow!

Other notable mentions are the following students earned Top 10 spots-

Principles of Marketing - Emerson Graham

Principles of Hospitality -Molly Horner

Sports and Entertainment Team - Jake Donnelly and Morgan Cassford

Finally, PHS DECA also earned 3 leadership spots to Nationals based on the DECA projects the students completed during the school year!
