Parent University
Dear Families of the Class of 2026,
I hope this email finds you well as you and your child bring the middle school years to an end!
I am writing to invite you to our annual 8th Grade Step-Up Night, which we call Parent University, this coming Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Randall (PHS) Auditorium.
The night is intended for the parents and caregivers of the incoming Freshman Class. Your child is certainly welcome to attend, but the information shared at Parent University will be presented to the students at our Freshman Orientation later in August (more on that at our Parent University Presentation!).
PHS building administrators and content supervisors will spend the evening sharing all of the important information you will want to know as your child transitions to high school. We will explain all of the procedural and operational matters that govern PHS, focusing specifically on the ones that differ from those at PCMS, as well as cover all of the curricular (academic) matters your child will navigate next year as well.
The evening is meant to be interactive, with the first 30 minutes spent in the auditorium for a general overview of the PHS Student Handbook with assistant principals Mr. David Rix and Ms. Kristen Kelley. The remaining 90 minutes will consist of breakout sessions in classrooms with our K-12 Content Supervisors. This portion of the evening will allow you to ask specific questions of our supervisors about our 9th grade courses, curricula, and learning expectations - questions that are relevant to you and your child.
We can't wait to welcome the Class of 2026 to PHS. We hope to see you all at our Parent University on Thursday, May 5. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions at (781) 293-9281 x2104.
Kind Regards,
Marc Talbot, Principal
