Welcome Back Letter

August 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians:

I hope that you have been enjoying the summer and have had an opportunity to relax with family and friends.  Our office support staff and custodians have been busy preparing for another exciting year at North Pembroke.  Enclosed is your child’s classroom placement with the list of students in the class.  The list of classmates may be useful to help your child make new friends prior to the start of school.  If your child is in Band or Orchestra (grades 5&6 only), I have also enclosed that schedule.

Please note school hours:

PreK AM 8:15-11:00

PreK PM 12:00-2:45

PreK Full Day 8:15-2:45

Kindergarten – Grade 6 8:40-3:25

Students will be marked tardy starting at 8:45

Early Release 1:10

Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQ’s) and answers as you begin to prepare for the start of school.

Where can I find the supply list for the new school year?  To see the supply list for a grade level, go to our school website www.pembrokepublicschools.org and visit the Back to School 2022-2023 link.

Where do I find a copy of the Student/Family Handbook?  The Student/Family Handbook is available on our website under the Parents and Students tab.

Am I able to send in food for classroom celebrations?  We have many children with food allergies. In order to protect our children, our school district has a policy that food and drinks may not be traded or shared at school.  This is also the reason why we do not allow food to be brought into the classroom to celebrate special events such as birthdays and holidays.  The Wellness Policy was updated on June 7, 2022 and can be found on the website under the Department tab.

What days are notices sent home? Thursdays are “Communication Days” in our school.  We use these days to send home informal newsletters and announcements.  Most communication is sent via Email Blast and posted to our Facebook page.

Should your student need to be out of school or will be tardy please call the dedicated voicemail box at 339-244-5038 by 9:15.  Be sure to leave students first and last name, teacher’s name and reason for absence and list of symptoms.  More information will assist our nurse on keeping a detailed report.  Be sure to program 339-244-5038 into your phone.

Should you need to dismiss your child early from school be sure to send a note in with your child.  Notes must include students first and last name, date and time of pick up.  Teachers name.  If for any reason your child needs to be dismissed at the end of the day, the latest they can be dismissed to the office is 2:45PM in order to facilitate parent pick up and bus dismissal.  Anything after 2:45 will be normal dismissal/pick up procedure.
