End of Year Update from Principal Murphy
I want to take an opportunity to let you know about some logistics around the last remaining weeks of school. As you read in the Superintendent’s update on Friday afternoon, we will be inviting parents up to the school beginning next Monday to collect student personal belongings.
In order to comply with the current health recommendations from our state and local governments, we will be asking for one parent to come up to the school and to gather these items on Monday and Tuesday of next week (6/8 and 6/9). Any items that are not picked up next week will remain in the school and can be retrieved in the fall when school resumes. Student personal items will be left in bags that will be arranged alphabetically, by homeroom, in clear plastic bags, on the wall in the back of the school during the days and times listed below. Please note that items that will be placed in bags are only items that were left by students in their desk/cubby area when school originally closed. Parents will not be able to enter the building to look for missing items.
Please plan to park on the side or back parking lots and walk to the bus loading areas where your child’s belongings will be clearly marked. We ask that you maintain the required six feet of social distance as well as wearing a face-covering during this time. I appreciate your assistance in complying with this process for the health and wellness of all.
Monday 6/8 (8:30-3:00)
Tuesday 6/9 (8:30-3:00)
- If you have any library books that you wish to return, there will be a return bin placed outside at pickup for this purpose.
- If your son or daughter needs any medication returned to you, there will be a separate process that will be communicated to affected families to take place after 6/16.
- The school district is also organizing a Chromebook return procedure to coincide with the final days of schools. There will be more information shared with families about this process next week.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
