Pembroke Public Schools

Good Afternoon, Pembroke Families and Staff,

I’d like to share an update on the challenges our district has been facing this week, in addition to the significant snowfall we experienced from Sunday into Monday.

As many of you are aware, the district has been experiencing widespread connectivity issues since returning to classes on Tuesday. Most students and staff have been without internet access across the district, which may explain delays in receiving responses to emails from teachers or staff members. We understand how difficult it can be to shift course when the resources we rely on are not readily available. Our staff and students have been incredible and have truly embraced the screen-free time we’ve had this week. We anticipate restoring internet connectivity for student and staff devices by the end of the day today.

In addition to the internet issues, we are also aware that our Student Information System, PowerSchool, has been inaccessible since the storm. We are actively working with our vendor to resolve this issue and anticipate full restoration by the beginning of next week.

Fortunately, although we have experienced some technology issues, our telephone, security, and heating systems have not been impacted.

As always, we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate these challenges, and we’re hopeful everything will be back to normal just in time for the next snowstorm this Sunday.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Sincerely,

Erin Obey

Superintendent
