Congratulations to seniors Joseph A. D'Angelo, Emma Gerlach, and Kevin Murphy for being recognized as Commended Scholars by the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.

This distinction is a result of their performance on the Fall 2022 PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which they took at PHS during their junior year. Over 3.5 million students took the PSAT/NMSQT exam last fall, and being a Commended Student means that Joe, Emma, and Kevin scored in the top 50,000 students in the nation. In other words, they scored in the top 1.4% in the entire country. This is a remarkable achievement.
