PCMS Important Dates and Announcements

  • 8th Grade Tours of PHS: From Tuesday, November 27th through Thursday, November 30th, our 8th Grade students will spend one day at PHS and ‘shadow’ a Pembroke High School student. This will give them the opportunity to experience a day at the High School. Below is a letter from Marc Talbot, the PHS principal which outlines the day:

Dear Parents and Families of 8th Grade Students,

As the principal of Pembroke High School, it is my pleasure to announce that we will once again be hosting all current PCMS 8th graders at PHS for a shadow day.

From Tuesday, Nov. 27 through Friday, Nov. 30, we will be welcoming approximately 65 students per day from 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The day on which your child will visit PHS is determined by his or her Titan Time teacher. Please see the list below.

    11/27

    • Mr. Newall
    • Mrs. Noguer
    • Mrs. Dubois
    • Mrs. Leonard

    11/28

    • Mrs. Previti
    • Mrs. Ruggiero
    • Mrs. Michalek
    • Ms. Leeper

    11/29

    • Mrs. Frost
    • Mr. Spearin
    • Mrs. Fitzgerald
    • Mrs. K. McDonough

    11/30

    • Ms. Gillis
    • Mr. Zopatti
    • Mrs. Sciulli
    • Mrs. Hayes

During their visit, students will be welcomed by the PHS Administrative Team and our Freshman Ambassadors. These Ambassadors, all of whom participated in these very tours last year, have each identified two or three 8th graders with whom they are familiar and have volunteered to serve as their tour guide for the day. Thus, the 8th-grade students will then “shadow” their Ambassador through several classes (including lunch and our version of Titan Time). After lunch, students will hear presentations that highlight the many great opportunities PHS offers its students from a collection of our Senior Student Leaders.

Students will be bussed to and from the schools, with an estimated return time to PCMS of 1:30 p.m. Students can either bring their own lunch or purchase one from our cafeteria using the same account that they would use at PCMS.

We hope you share our enthusiasm for this terrific opportunity to have your child see the many great things that happen at PHS every day. This shadow day will not only give your child a true sense of what it means to be a Titan but also ease the transition next fall by providing students with a helpful sense of familiarity.

In the event that you do not want your child to participate in this opportunity, please email me directly at marc.talbot@pembrokek12.org so that I can inform the middle school of your decision.

  • PCMS ‘Kiss A Cow’ Fundraiser: Kiss a Cow 2018 is in the works! This year, proceeds from the Kiss a Cow fundraiser will be sent to Santa’s Helpers, a Pembroke organization that helps families, specifically children, in need during the holiday season. Not only do they help with things like gift-giving, but the winter essentials like warm clothes, boots, coats, etc. Many of our own students have benefitted from this organization in the past. Unfortunately, our favorite cow, Triscuit, has passed away. This year, we will be visited by Misty (thank you, Ms. Hayes). Misty will be joining us on Wednesday, November 21st at 9:55 am. Fundraising will be done by Titan Time team November 5th-20th during lunches. The Titan Time team with the most funds raised will be called up teacher-by-teacher to kiss the cow! Students and staff will be encouraged to dress up as farmers to show their spirit and support of this special event!
