PCMS and PHS Human Sex Ed Curriculum
Former Governor Weld signed into law an Act Relative to Sex Education (Chapter 71, Section 32A), which ensures parental/caregiver notification of curriculum that primarily involves human sexual education or human sexuality issues.
The goal of the wellness program is to help students acquire appropriate content background and to develop the life skills of problem solving, communication and decision-making and to use these skills to prepare for a healthy and productive future.
Under Massachusetts’ law, you may exempt your child from any portion of a curriculum that primarily involves human sexual education or human sexuality issues. If you would like to exempt your child from a particular class, please make the request in writing.
The school principal and the science content area coordinator, are available to meet with you to review curriculum and materials. To review these materials, please call to make an appointment.
We look forward to working with you to ensure that your child has a positive and educationally enriching experience this school year. If you have any questions regarding the exemption process, please call the principal or science content area coordinator.
