School Procedures and Policies

The Pembroke Public Schools are committed to making schools safe for students and staff. We work closely with State, and local safety officials - including police, fire, emergency medical services, and public health - to ensure that we are well prepared and that children are protected. We have a comprehensive Emergency Response Plan that makes our staff and our public safety partners respond swiftly should an emergency occur, and we conduct regular training and practice sessions based on that plan.

School Resource Officer

The School Resource Officer (SRO) is a member of the Pembroke Police Department tasked with exemplifying the department's approach to community-based policing. The SRO works in conjunction with the school staff and community to help create a safer school environment. The SRO helps to build a positive relationship with the youth, parents, and staff.

Our School Resource Officer currently divides his time between the high school and the middle school.  In addition to the SRO on site, we also welcome officers into our buildings regularly in what is called the Community Policing Program.  As part of this partnership with the Pembroke Police Department, we have an established (MOU) Memorandum of Understanding with the department regarding all school-based issues.
