Caring for your Chromebook
-
Treat your Chromebook with care, and you'll have no issues.
-
You should be the only person using your own Chromebook, never lend it to a friend.
-
Never expose your Chromebook to extreme heat or cold
-
Never leave it in a car
-
Never get it wet
-
Please don't ever decorate or deface your Chromebook. It is expected to be returned in the same condition it was distributed, new with slight wear.
-
Always carry your Chromebook carefully and with two hands, like a pizza.
-
Whenever possible, carry it in a backpack or bag when traveling to and from school and never hold it by the screen only.

What is the cost to replace a Chromebook?
Pembroke Public Schools has invested in HP Care Pack extended warranties for every student Chromebook. Extended warranties cover hardware and software failure. Screen breaks, damage due to misuse, or carelessness with the device is fully the responsibility of the family. Damage costs are entered into PowerSchool so families are aware, and failure to pay for damage travels with the student year to year and can limit the student's ability to participate in activities. The general cost to replace is $300. We offer flexible pricing plans allowing families to pay on a schedule.
What are the other Chromebook damage costs?
Broken screen - $50
Missing / lost charger - $30
General damage to case including stickers, spills, breaks - TBD based on severity
Full Replacement cost - $300 (includes warranty and management license costs)
