What languages are offered at PHS?

PHS students can choose to study French, Latin, or Spanish with many students studying more than one language simultaneously. 

Can I switch my language upon entering 9th grade?

Yes, you can! We recommend, however, that students continue their language track from the middle school and add a second world language at PHS. We find by doing so, students can compare their experiences before making a final decision.

How many years of World Language education do I need for college?

Most colleges require at least two years in the same language. Competitive colleges and universities may recommend three or four years of high school World Language studies. Furthermore, language competency can afford students greater flexibility in college. Many of our students have used their linguistic competency to study abroad.
