  • Important Message from Principal Talbot

    Dear Parents,

    Recently, we have learned that families have been contacted by scammers alleging to be working in conjunction with The College Board and Pembroke High School to improve student SAT scores.  The scammers offer study guides for the SAT at a personal cost, and then ask for a credit card or other personal information to complete the purchase.

    Please know that Pembroke High School does not offer to sell any study materials for the SAT, nor do we share student information with any third party companies.  In fact, we have learned that this scam has been affecting families in neighboring communities as well, so we can assure you that there has not been a data breach at Pembroke Public Schools.

    The College Board is aware of the scam and has posted communications on their website and with the Federal Trade Commission.  While representatives from The College Board do contact families from time to time, those communications are only after a request that has been initiated by a student or family member.  The College Board does not make unsolicited calls to student homes, nor do they request credit card information over the phone.

    Finally, as a reminder, the web address for The College Board is  It is not

    Please do not hesitate to contact our Guidance Department or the College Board directly with any questions.

    Marc Talbot, Principal

    NOTICE: Mosquito Spraying on September 12, 2019

    Dear School Community;

    Pembroke Public Schools in collaboration with the Plymouth County Mosquito Control Project will spray the Pembroke High School grounds to lower the risk of people encountering EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis) infected mosquitos in those specific areas. Although Pembroke remains at a MODERATE risk for EEE, this spraying is being done out of an abundance of caution with regard to the risk of EEE.

    It remains critically important for people in communities at critical, high and moderate risk for EEE to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites. These steps include using EPA-approved bug spray, wearing long sleeves and pants outdoors to reduce exposed skin, and limiting outdoor activities in the hours from dusk to dawn when mosquitoes are most active.

    The Pembroke High School grounds will be sprayed between approximately 2:00 AM and sunrise on September 12, 2019.

    We have posted this message because the Massachusetts Pesticide Control Act requires parents, staff, and students to receive the Massachusetts Pesticide Bureau Consumer Information bulletin whenever pesticide applications are being made on the property of your school, daycare center, or school-age child care program. This bulletin is being provided to you along with a Standard Written Notification form and a Pesticide Specific Factsheet. Please see the attached informational documents provided by the Department of Agriculture Resources and the National Pesticide Information Center.

    Per the Control Project, the fields will be ready to use the next day (September 13, 2019) after spraying. Any questions regarding this spraying, EEE, and overall health-related questions should be directed to the Pembroke Board of Health.

     Thanks for your attention to this.
